Ludo: from controls to your first round

Bring your attention to one round of Ludo. Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Look at what changes after your first action. Read the objective before making your first input. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Play with two or four people on the same device. Follow the house rules shown on the board; internet matchmaking is not available.

Try a more deliberate round

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Use the example to check your reasoning.

What you are aiming for

Bring all four tokens home before the other players. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. The example below illustrates a decision.

Work through the instructions

  1. Roll six to leave the yard.
  2. Move an eligible token by the die value; home requires an exact roll.
  3. Capture opponents on non-safe squares.
  4. Six, capture and finishing a token grant another roll; a third consecutive six forfeits that roll.

Getting comfortable with the controls

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

One way to understand the rules

A token two steps from home cannot use a three. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Choose a deliberate next step.

Pay attention to this rule

Safe squares cannot capture; blockades are not part of this edition. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
