A focus for your next round

When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Match all eight pairs. Your result is the number of two-card turns used. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

Making your moves

  1. Turn over any face-down card.
  2. Choose a second card. Equal symbols stay visible.
  3. Unequal cards turn back after a short pause.
  4. Continue until every pair is visible.

The controls to know

Use the on-screen controls with a mouse or touch. Use the control method described here for this activity. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.

Follow the example

Seeing a star at the top left and another star in the bottom row gives you a matching pair on a later turn. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Notice the change in the playing area.

Notice this detail

You cannot turn a third card while a mismatched pair is still being shown. Compare the situation with the worked example. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
